The staff at St. John\u2019s recognizes that parents have the primary responsibility for nurturing their children. St. John\u2019s staff wants to work with parents to instill Christian values and morals in every student.\u00a0 Thank you for considering St. John\u2019s for your child\u2019s education.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Our goal is to help every child grow<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Spiritually<\/em> &#8211; by teaching what God expects of his children using the Law (The Ten Commandments) and then when a sinner repents, sharing the Good News (The Gospel) that Christ died and rose for forgiveness of our sins.<\/p>\n<p><em>Physically<\/em> &#8211; by developing fine and large motor skills.<\/p>\n<p><em>Intellectually<\/em> &#8211; by providing experiences to develop problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n<p><em>Socially<\/em> &#8211; by helping establish proper social relationships with peers and adults.<\/p>\n<p><em>Emotionally<\/em> &#8211; by teaching each child they are precious in God\u2019s eyes, helping to develop a positive self-image, and encouraging interdependence.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><strong><em>All are welcome! <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Enrollment is open to the public without regard of race or national origin. You do not need to be a member of St. John\u2019s to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Children must be 3 years old by September 1.\u00a0 Children must be potty trained and able to take care of themselves in the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Dates and Times<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pre-Kindergarten session is September\u00a0 thru May.\u00a0 Class will be held from 8:00am-11:00am<\/p>\n<p>For age 3\u2013 Tuesdays and Thursdays<\/p>\n<p>For age 4 \u2013\u00a0 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Class Schedule<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The children should arrive between 7:30 and\u00a0 8:00AM\u00a0 and leave between 11:00 and\u00a0 11:10AM, unless other arrangements are made.<\/p>\n<p>The morning activities will consist of:<br \/>\nBible story and songs;\u00a0 Work with letters, numbers, shapes; Snack and recess time;\u00a0Free play in the classroom; Art, story time<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Extended School Care <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PreK Children may arrive between 7:30-8:00am each morning\u00a0 at no extra charge.<\/p>\n<p><em>Extended PreK Care <\/em>\u2013 11:00am-2:20pm \u2013 A supervisor will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.\u00a0 You MUST register one week in advance.\u00a0 There will be a fee of $5.50 per hour (rounded to nearest half-hour). Students should bring a lunch or purchase hot lunch. Registration forms are available at school and on the website. If a student would need to stay beyond 2:20pm, After School Care is open until 5:30pm ($5.50 per hour).<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Snack Time<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The teacher will provide a snack and drink each day, included with your PreK fees.\u00a0 Appropriate snack foods include: fruit, crackers, cheese, dry cereal, yogurt, or other healthful foods.\u00a0 1% white milk, fat free chocolate milk, or orange juice will be offered.<\/p>\n<p>Snack Fee \u2013\u00a0 \u00a03yr-old &#8211; $35\/year\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 4 yr-old &#8211; $40\/year<\/p>\n<p>Milk\u00a0 Fee \u2013\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a03yr-old-\u00a0 $15\/year\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04yr-old &#8211; $20\/year<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Clothing\/Shoes<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Extra clothing will be available at school for students in case of accidents due to paint, food, etc.\u00a0 \u00a0 Please send an extra pair of your own extra clothes to save at school just in case.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Transportation\/Arrival\/Pick-Up<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>St. John\u2019s does not provide transportation. Car pools may be set up by individual groups of parents. If transportation is needed, call the school and an attempt will be made to find a parent living nearby who might be able to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE: We must have written authorization from the parents for any person other than the parent to pick up the child. Written authorization must be signed by the parent.\u00a0 If this arrangement is not made a day in advance, the parent must also call the school to verify arrangements.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Illness<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure that your child is well when brought to school!\u00a0 If your child displays symptoms such as a fever, a rash, diarrhea, etc. he\/she should be kept home. If your child is not well enough to go outside to play, he\/she is not well enough to come to school. If we do see evidence of ill health, your child will be removed from the general play\/class area and you will be contacted to come and pick up your child. A parent or authorized emergency contact person is required to pick up the child within one hour of the time he\/she is called.\u00a0 Thank you for thinking of the teacher and other students!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Weather Related Closings<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>Our school uses the Winona Public School bus system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If there is<\/strong> <strong>a school closing, there will be NO\u00a0 PREK <\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If there is a 2 hour delay, PREK will be held 9:30-11:30am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Announcements are posted on WKBT-8; WXOX-19; and local radio stations<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Thank You<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you for considering St. John\u2019s Pre-Kindergarten program.\u00a0 God values every child, and so do we. We look forward to serving you and your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Fees and Payments<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parents are expected to pay the monthly tuition by the 20<sup>th<\/sup> of the preceding month.
