St. John’s Lutheran School  40th Anniversary Celebration - Let Children Hear the Mighty Deeds

Matthew 19:14   “Let the little children come to me.”

Celebration Worship Service   March 25, 10:30 in the All-Purpose Room

Guest Speaker    ~  Catered meal to follow

What a reason to celebrate! We have been blessed in so many ways. As a congregation we have the privilege to use those blessings to offer students a full time Christian Education for the last 40 years. Our current enrollment is 70 children in grades kindergarten through eighth and an additional 13 students in the prekindergarten programs. A total of 492 students have attended St. Johns over 40 years.  Over the years the names and numbers have changed. The one thing that hasn’t changed through the years is that God’s Word in its truth and purity continues to be taught. We are able to develop the God-given talents and abilities in each child through Christ-centered education that is incorporated into all subjects. We are also able to offer a classroom atmosphere where expectations are high but yet still attainable. Students are well prepared for high school. With our solid Christ-light and Catechism classes students learn not only Bible stories and doctrine but also discuss ways to apply those truths in their everyday lives. With this Christian worldview they would then live their lives in a way that shows thanks to God. What a reason to celebrate.

Memorabilia Collection   A display of anything that brings back memories will be set up after the March 25th worship service. We need your help in gathering any of the following items: old newsletters, uniforms, pictures, trophies, awards, minutes form meetings, schoolwork, textbooks, etc… We would also like student photos (wallet or 3x5) to use in the table centerpiece displays. Please put your name on items so it can be returned to you. We also need pictures to make a memory slide show. This will be presented after the service.
